The library

Almelo

normally a busy hub and a very good place to be
the C-19 virus is the cause that it looks so empty.
But an other danger lurks: the council want to stop the funds for the library
You can imagine... shortcutting access to books and knowledge
It is really not done

Beautiful photo and I hope that enough people contact the council and voice their opinion!

I echo the other comments here! This would be a disaster! Libraries are one thing that everyone should support anyway they can. When they deny books to anyone and everyone it is akin to burning them! Books are books because people read them otherwise it is just fuel for the furnace. V

Our libraries reopened but all returns are not processed or handled by staff for 72 hours and all meeting rooms remain closed. My book club are now meeting at the pub in a quiet room and we have lunch following...life is not so tough :)
Nice looking library, Mieke.

This is a really lovely looking library, however the thought of your Council wanting to stop funding it is dreadful. I hope that doesn't happen.

Excellent photo journalism. So sad the odd restrictions being established. V

very nice shot of this interior. I like the lgihting and design.
All libraries here are closed. I have access to University Libraries, but must order on line and make an appointment for pick-up.
I hope that your council changes their mind.

An emblematic image that symbolizes the difficulties that, for various reasons, the wonderful world of books and readers must face
