I was leaning quietly against the trunk of a large spruce tree when I heard a noise.
Turning my head I came nose to nose with this little red squirrel.
We stared at each other for a few seconds, then he shrieked and darted up an adjacent tree.
His curiosity got the better of his fear, however, as he kept descending to have a look at me.
Given the location, I was probably the first human he'd ever seen - or ever will see.
Hopefully I left a good impression.
