John Victor Cooper

Absolute pride of workmanship. Never seen such a straight line of gravestones.

Brookwood Military Cemetary.

This is Brookwood Military Cemetery. The graves and the the grass are kept absolutely perfectly clean.
Somewhere I have a photo of the two men who do this work.
They work hard and are so proud of their cemetery.
This pride in work is not seen very much.

JOhn, it was for me that you visited that day. I asked if you could take pictures of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada interred there. You did and sent me the photos. I still have the pictures of the two men who looked after the Canadian section. As a member of the Militia Battalion of what the Queen calls her "Canadian Argylls" we thank you on this 75th anniversary of the end of the war in Europe.

Tom, it can get very emotional here when reading the gravestones.

The beauty lies in simplicity, cleanliness and tidiness. Nice picture.
