I love birdhouses and watching their occupants. One year we had a family of Eastern Bluebirds.
Mom and Dad worked hard building a nest in the box and soon had a family of 4 babies.
Sadly, Mama Bluebird was murdered by a raccoon (yes, we lived in a rough neighborhood at the time).
Daddy Bluebird valiantly tried to raise his little family but only one child survived. We loved
watching the two of them together and frequently laughed at their antics. One day, Daddy Bluebird was sitting
on top of birdfeeder when Junior decided to join him. Unfortunately, Junior wasn't very experienced
and didn't know how to apply the brakes when he landed and collided with his father.
He almost knocked Dad off the feeder! We still laugh thinking about this memory!
