Another bird from October, 2018. I don't think I saw any redpolls last year. This one is feeding on the seeds of asters, another good reason to not cut down asters when flowering is over. Finches and sparrows really enjoy seeds of asters and goldenrods as well as a big variety of other species including those we think of as weeds. They are an important food source.
