Still the best! I've had a set of three sprouting covers with differently spaced grids for wide-mouthed canning jars for over 20 years and in the interim tried different more labor intensive ways of making sprouts.
This lid has served me well and provides the best and easiest result! Amazon is filled with different types of screw on lids for canning jars, at all different prices. These are mung beans which are going to go into Pad Thai today or tomorrow.
What I need to perfect is how to get rid of the hulls. I know it's safe to leave them with the sprouts, but they are not visually attractive. (I've tried putting them in a bowl and waiting for them to float to the top but that has only been partially successful.
Just found a video about how to make your own grid using needlepoint plastic mesh: https://youtu.be/KmEMkJOUawQ
