Evidence of fire and wolves

This trail goes through a stretch of forest that had a fire some time
ago. There are several spots on Quadra that have experienced fire
in the past, and in 1925 there was a massive fire that burned over
half the island. Everyone gets nervous during our dry summers.

I also saw a fair amount of wolf scat on this hike.
Ergo, the retractable leash is on the entire time.

Keep her near to you if there's wolves about!

Outstanding light and composition. Be very careful with Kailey if there are wolves nearby. And be careful yourself if there is any danger of fire.

I hope the fires stay away. Love the dog’s eye perspective. V

The appearance of wolves sounds scary.

She seems contest to be attached to you :) V
PS We are getting smoke again - I really feel for those affected by the fires south of the border.

A wonderful track for walking, but sounds like yo need to keep alert.
That's a nice strong looking retractable leash Don.

We know too well about fires down here...not wolves though thankfully !!

Probably an inviting trail for her, but good idea to keep her on a leash. V.

so much to be wary of these days...wildfires, wolves, the pandemic, and now electioneering provincial politicians...stay safe over there..

The trail is beautifully lit. Be careful, I think the protection is mutual. V

It looks an interesting trail, but I can see it might burn well in dry conditions. V
