Charlie is one of 12 U.S. Embassy security guards who works for embassy security boss Tony Mix, a former U.S. Marine Corps staff sergeant. Mix trains the crew of loyal island security guards much the same way he would his own Marines. The security force follows Marine Corps doctrine and can recite many of the Marine Corps regulations and standard operating procedures without reference. The security guards value the embassy work because the pay is good. But Mix demands the strict discipline from his men and even forbids them from drinking and smoking during their personal time. Violations are rare, but when they occur, Mix uses Marine style methods to overcome discipline problems.

チャーリは元アメリカ海兵隊軍曹のトニー ミックスの下でアメリカ大使館に勤務する１２名の警備官のひとり。ミックスは海兵隊で行う訓練を同じような訓練を警備官に施す。警備官たちは海兵隊の教えの多くを職務遂行の基本に取り込んでいる。海兵隊の教えを暗唱できるほどである。職場の待遇が良いため、彼らは大使館での勤めを重んじる。ミックスは彼らに勤務外でも厳しい規律を守らせ、例えば勤務外でも喫煙・飲酒は禁止。違反者は少ないが、違反者にはミックスが海兵隊式の対応を行う。
