Barefoot contestants climb a series of coconut palm trunks at the 5th Micro Games coconut climb event. The climber who could scale all five in the fastest time won. The event is one of the island sports that tested teams for their skills in the old traditional island competitions.

「第５回ミクロネシア競技大会」で「ヤシの木登り」競技では選手が素足で木を登る。５本あるヤシの木を全て登った時間を競う競技は人気の高い種目。この種目は昔から団体競技としてこのようなイベントで行われる。そのほかにやり投げや海洋競泳なども伝統的な種目である。
