During warm-ups backstage at the 5th Micro Games, an olive-skinned traditional dancer cracks a warm smile while joking around with her girlfriends. U.S. Marines and sailors from Okinawa, Japan, participated in the Micro Games providing sports officials extra medical and logistics help. Their two-week deployment to Pohnpei was called exercise Island Vigor 02. It provided the servicemembers, many of them Navy medics, a chance to practice treating real injuries similar to the type they would typically treat in combat or field training.
