Elias Rodriguez, of Pohnpei, the last marathoner to cross the finish line at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia, participates in the 2002 Micronesia Games opening ceremony torch-lighting ceremony at Kolonia, Pohnpei. Rodriguez now coaches the FSM's national marathon team and works as a hardware salesman in Kolonia. He still runs 10-12 miles every day his friends say. He gained international fame during the 2000 Olympics as the crowds cheered him across the finish line as the final athlete to compete in the games on closing day.
