Monday US COVID News
“Trump is socially distancing at Arizona event — nobody else is…At a packed, indoor “roundtable” that President himself said feels more like a rally, President Trump is the only person socially distanced from everyone else. Very few people in attendance are wearing masks.”
CNN
“The top communications official at the powerful cabinet department in charge of combating the coronavirus made outlandish and false accusations on Sunday. Michael Caputo, the assistant secretary of public affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services, ran through a series of conspiracy theories, culminating in a prediction that Mr. Trump will win re-election, but his Democratic opponent, Joseph R. Biden Jr., will refuse to concede. ‘And when Donald Trump refuses to stand down at the inauguration, the shooting will begin,’ Caputo said. He added: ‘If you carry guns, buy ammunition, ladies and gentlemen, because it’s going to be hard get.’” A longtime Trump loyalist with NO background in health care, Mr. Caputo, 58, was appointed by the White House to his post with Health and Human Services in April.”
NY Times
Perhaps some would call the rantings of conspiracies and taking up arms from one head of America’s Health Department a bit “crazy”. It’s certainly not what the USA needs tp cope with an out-of-control pandemic…
“Former United States Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson said Monday that President Trump's comments that ‘nothing more could have been done’ to handle the coronavirus pandemic was ‘absurd’."
CNN
Trump’s comment was made as a response to criticism that his inaction to properly guide Americans – to help save lives - as soon as he knew back in February just how dangerous COVID was going to be to the American people.

For some reason, I can see a vague connection of some of the news today to the poem above…. A spider/fly relationship could figuratively apply to those who believe in a cult leader’s lies enough to foolishly risk their lives. Just an observation as the spider and the fly in the photo above were just an observation…
Admittedly, the above spider is probably a Hunter Spider who doesn’t even have a web; just poison. Still, the poem does come to mind. Since it was past sunset, I didn’t watch to see how this event played out. Neither the spider nor the fly were moving when I saw them.
Yes, the image does have noise. Older camera; low light. In the old days, this would have been called "film grain" and added personality to the shot. My own photography career started back in the old days, so pleasing grain doesn't really bother me if it helps to tell a story.
