The Lüttmoorsiel – Nordstrandischmoor construction line, also known as the Lorenbahn, opened in 1934. With a gauge of 600 mm, it leads through the North Frisian Wadden Sea from Beltringharder Koog to Hallig Nordstrandischmoor. With the help of the Lorenbahn, building materials get into the Wadden Sea in order to fortify the small Hallig and the surrounding region by constructing groynes and lahnungs and to prevent flooding. The 22 residents of Nordstrandischmoor are allowed to drive the route with their own motorized trucks.
