Keeping our Rhubarb Safe

Singletree Road, Trout Creek Meadows, Chaffee County, Colorado

After being told the deer would leave our rhubarb alone, and then after several depredations, we built this barrier against both the rabbits and deer. The squirrels can probably still get in and out freely. We wanted it sturdy enough to withstand a deer's leaning on it, and large enough to last through a few future growing seasons. It is built from the 2x2 pieces that had been the railing of the deck on our former house.
