De Sint-Servaaskerk telt vier crypten. Onder het oostelijk deel van het schip bevindt zich de Servaascrypte,
ook wel confessio genoemd, met het vermeende graf van Sint-Servaas. Ten oosten hiervan ligt de
kleine crypte met het graf van hertog Karel van Neder-Lotharingen. De crypten dateren alle uit de late
10e of vroege 11e eeuw, de eerste bouwfase van de romaanse kerk. Tussen de oostcrypte en de
kleine crypte werd in de late 11e eeuw of in de 12e eeuw de vieringscrypte aangelegd.
Deze werd in 1811 gesloopt, en in 1881-82 weer opgebouwd


The Saint Servaas Church has four crypts. Under the eastern part of the ship is the Servatius crypt,
also called confessio, with the supposed tomb of Saint Servatius. To the east of this lies the
small crypt with the tomb of Duke Charles of Lower Lorraine. The crypts all date from the late
10th or early 11th century, the first construction phase of the Romanesque church.
Between the eastern crypt and thesmall crypt was created in the late 11th century or in the
12th century the celebration crypt.It was demolished in 1811 and rebuilt in 1881-82
