In custody on Morte Lake Trail

Last time she was at the lake I let her off leash for a bit.
She abused her freedom by sneaking away into the bush. After
calling her for about 30 minutes I finally saw her skulking
along with something in her mouth. I ordered her to "drop",
which she did very reluctantly. Upon inspection it was a
fairly large bone with some disgusting rotten flesh and
sinew at the ends. Fortunately she didn't seem to suffer
any ill effects from her lakeside "snack".

So today when we went to the lake she was leashed
the whole time, except for a brief swim.

We still have a lot of smoke from the US fires, but it
is improving somewhat. You can see a bit of sun and
shadow in this photo, which is different from the last
few days. It seems to me that this light has a unique
look because of the smoke.

Kailey is asserting her independence! She looks like she loves her hikes. The woods look beautiful. Perfectly exposed to capture it. V

That looks like a beautiful trail for hiking, I'm sure Kailey
really enjoys it on leash or off.

What.... has she been taking lessons from Tug! Sounds like one of his moves. One time he came back with a little skull. Oh well, dogs will be dogs. We have resorted to a long lead as well when we know the temptation is too great. A beautiful trail through the woods and the light is rather interesting here.

Dogs find the most disgusting, to us, things, but treats to them!! Beautiful shot of the trail and a reluctantly leased Kailey! V

She looks like she regrets her past actions :) The path looks inviting in that light.

Kailey is pushing her limits, I wonder if she knew that she was in trouble. The light seems to have a certain glow to it. V

She seems to be looking pretty longingly at somewhere she can't go. Nice light on the trees, but there definitely is an unusual golden quality to it. V.
