Dave - see my posts. Stay away from this. I'll vote for it as is so that you can continue to live and participate here.

It’s actually three separate pieces, Jim. Wife is very particular about the crystal collection, so no cloth, sheet, or towel. I’ll share an image in the thread to establish the tableau.

That’s a sconce shade, Paul (the crystal ships are on the top shelf of an etagere), and the primary light source was the sun. Unfortunately, there’s no good way to attach anything to the wall. I’m going use a stepladder to move my view up and to the left.

Dave - you don't have to move it.
Now is the time to "hire some assistants" to hold a black sheet behind this.

This piece of art has some real potential.
I am intrigued by the shape in the lower right, the base for the tall sail.

I wish you a lot of luck. I have never been good at shooting glass like this. Angles, reflections, and lighting have generally beaten me.

As far as your entry goes I’d try a black or dark blue cloth/towel behind it then change the angle of your light source. Is that a table lamp I see in the upper left corner? PA

Nothing personal I accuse everyone of cheating and I’m the biggest cheater of them all. PA

How is this cheating, Paul?

I thought about cloth, Jim. I really don't want to move them, and they're in a location that I want to leave alone. I think the angle will help, though maybe not with contrast. A smaller aperture may bring out the wall's texture. Plenty of things to try. I'm up for a challenge.

Dave, this will be a tough one. Try a piece of black cloth behind it for some contrast.

Ok, if you can cheat then I can cheat. Look out, here I come. Paul
