In the previous shot I mentioned how so many people seemed to be going to the Mona Lisa not to see it, but simply to be there. I also mentioned that surprisingly, I could not see anyone taking selfies. Well, check to the left of this shot. Also, directly in front of the Mona Lisa you can see one person taking a shot with a camera, and another with a cell phone. Ah yes, I can imagine the conversation when they get home.
Them: "I got to see the Mona Lisa!"
Friend: "So what did you think of it? What did you make of her smile?"
Them: "She was smiling? Let me just check my Instagram feed."
Yes, I will readily concede that I'm just taking photos at this point too; but my turn in front of the painting has yet to come.
Addendum: My personal opinion is that Facebook is a sociopathic organisation that steals other peoples' intellectual property (including the images in this gallery) despite being explicitly denied permission to do so.
