Jupiter Revisited 2020

Day #2

Although most hibiscus blooms seem to only last for a single day, the flower on my new plant stayed “fresh” for two full days. However, on day #2, the color changed… I’ll now have to watch to see if this remains true with other Jupiter flowers. So far, neither day's color exactly matches the flowers in Web photos put up by the company where I bought this plant.

"Giant hibiscus 'Jupiter' blooms with huge 8-10" single flowers in blended rings of yellow, tangerine orange, candy pink and a bright red eye. 'Jupiter' is a great bloomer and comes from two parents that are among our best bloomers - the giant mother 'Radiant' and the tried and true father 'Simple Pleasures.' The bush is upright, beautiful and medium sized. Released from HVH in 2014. Hybridizer: C. Black"

US COVID News Tuesday

"Chris Wallace calls Bill Clinton's DNC speech a 'cogent argument' against Trump's coronavirus response. Fox News Sunday" anchor Chris Wallace said Tuesday, ‘I thought he made a more cogent argument ... about how Donald Trump has mishandled the coronavirus than any I've heard from anybody.’ During his remarks, the former president stated that the U.S. has ‘just 4% of the world’s population, but 25% of the world’s COVID cases. Donald Trump says we’re leading the world. Well, we are the only major industrial economy to have its unemployment rate triple.’” Fox News

Local TUESDAY UPDATES:

"Missouri COVID-19 deaths remain high."

"White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx visited Jefferson City on Tuesday to meet with Missouri Governor Mike Parson for a roundtable discussion with community and state health officials. Dr. Birx came with a message for people in Missouri. She said that it does not matter if you are a Democrat or Republican, you need to wear a mask. ‘Every public health official anywhere in the country will tell you it’s easier to have a statewide mask mandate,’ she said. Social distancing is key to preventing the spread of the virus, Brix said. That means no backyard parties with your neighbors. Even being outdoors will not totally protect you. Close contact with anyone not wearing a mask is risky.”

“KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly revealed Monday the state has been classified as a red zone by the White House.” Fox News

Jupiter yesterday: https://pbase.com/britestar/image/170965033

Pretty both days. Variety is said to be the spice of life.
Jupiter has given me variety in just one single flower.
I look forward to seeing more.
