Currently have two broods of fledged bluebirds visiting our backyard mealworm feeders and peanut suet feeders. We also have an adult male bluebird that's been making numerous round trips from our mealworm feeders to the woodline between our backyard and Lake Frederick.
He's carrying mealworms to five newly fledged bluebirds from a third brood. The 3rd brood fledged five immature bluebirds that remain high in the oak trees between the homes on Oatgrass Court and Lake Frederick.
As with any large family, not all follow parental guidance; two of the five fledgelings pick separate branches (hiding places) from the three that stay grouped together; this is one of the 'renegade' fledglings.
