Drommedaris

The Drommedaris, or Ketenpoort, was built in 1540 as a city gate, part of the city wall that then surrounded Enkhuizen. It was also a defense tower that watched over the city's ports and had a view of the then Zuiderzee. For a long time the building served as a prison and storage space. The Drommedaris is open again after a four-year renovation. 'De Drom' is a multifunctional center that offers activities such as singing, dance and music to lectures, cabaret, theater and film.
