We've had another soaking this week, with some flooding on the south coast. The winds have howled as well. This led to warnings of dangerous conditions on the coast. Was I worried? Not a bit of it. The ocean and I have an understanding. When huge surf is reported, I go there with my camera. The surf immediately transforms into a millpond as soon as I flip the power switch on the Olympus.
In this case the ocean didn't notice me quickly enough so before it could flatten out completely I got this much diminished long distance shot of the Austinmer rock pool in which you can see the pink capped head of a surfer, and a couple of birds fronting the breaking waves.
