Warrock Homestead, north of Casterton, Victoria, is the birthplace of the amazingly intelligent Australian Kelpie and preserves the fine bloodline of these remarkable intelligent Kelpie breed of working sheep and cattle dogs. The original pup known as "Kelpie" was born in 1871, her parents being a pair of brown and tan collies imported from Scotland. "Kelpie" means malignant water sprite haunting fiords and streams in the shape of a horse.
