This small farmhouse stands in the Zuiderzee museum in Enkhuizen. Especially in the province of Gelderland there were many small farms like this. The soil was not very fertile and the farmers did not raise a lot of cattle. As a consequence, a small barn was enough for the farms, and poverty made the living space small, one or two rooms had to do.
