Whenever I have visited Peru the first stop has almost always been Los Pantanos de Villa just outside of Lima. This location includes a pond right behind the beach that is surrounded by reeds that are home to lots of interesting birds. One of my favorite residents of this location is the Wren-like Rushbird. These little birds definitely spend a lot of time noodling around in the reeds and can be quite a challenge to get a good look at. Watching their foraging reminds me very much of a Marsh Wren here at home.
