Little Bear

Halfway to the bog I heard a rustling sound to my left.
I looked and saw this little black bear cub scurrying up a tree some 30 feet away.
My first thought was to look for Mom, who, though not in sight, was undoubtedly not far away.
I grabbed this one quick shot and went on my way.
A mother bear with a cub is not to be trifled with.

Not technically a bog dweller but the surrounding woods are full of them.

Wow, such a great catch and find! Glad mama was nowhere in sight. I’m always a bit nervous walking in the woods that we might come across a bear. We have seen tracks in early snowfalls. I finally got some bear spray to carry with us. Usually the dogs are so loud with their bells on that I hope all the bears get scared away. Seriously cool find and photo!

Before I read your caption, it was the same thought that went through my mind. A great image, and you are braver than I.

Oh, how adorable!! They look too cute, you want to pick them up and cuddle... not a good idea though!! Might be the last cuddle you give. Great encounter and shot. VV

A great capture indeed and a good move to get away from the scene as quickly as possible.

What a great capture of this cute little bear. Good thing you got out of there quickly, though.
