This was the best homemade pizza I’ve ever made and part of the reason for the fabulous flavor was the use of Aldi’s garlic flavored cheese curds instead of mozzarella cheese.
After making the crust from scratch using the recipe from my former Cuisinart DLC7 and rolling out half of it (the other half to be frozen) to fit on my pizza peel, I topped it with homemade tomato sauce to which I had added a can of whole cranberry sauce. There were mushrooms in the sauce, so the only other toppings I used besides the cheese curds were chopped red onion, and Kraft parmesan cheese. I slid it from the pizza peel onto a well preheated pizza stone in my oven. The stone truly does make for a crisper crust.
Honestly, the most delicious pizza my husband and I ever tasted, with much of the credit going to the cheese curds (hope I can get them again!) and the sweeter tomato sauce.
