At dawn I was sitting 30 feet from a shoreline beaver lodge hoping for a moose to appear.
As the sun broke over the trees an otter family emerged from the lodge, which they've apparently appropriated from the beavers.
They were surprised to see me, as I them. After a brief examination and few huffs they went on their way.
