“While other states around the country have canceled their state fairs because of the COVID-19 outbreak, Missouri officials said it’s important for them to continue. Missouri Department of Agriculture Director Chris Chinn said the state fair – scheduled Aug. 13-23 in Sedalia – will still have livestock shows, camping and a carnival, but all concerts have been canceled. Chinn said the concerts were canceled because many of the performers were already backing out because of COVID-19 concerns.” KMBC News

Although I very much enjoy attending fairs and festivals, we’re definitely going to stay home this year. Just as we stayed home for the Fourth of July a couple of weeks ago. Obviously. The goal is to still be around 30 years from now & be able to attend future events.
Meanwhile, my photo today is of my new hibiscus blooming again. When the weather got super hot a couple of weeks ago - after the first flower appeared - this plant dropped all of its buds. Now, it’s full of buds again. However, even hotter weather is now expected to come in with a prolonged heat wave. So I’m enjoying the flowers while we still have them.
