Rotterdam. PAULUSKERK

PAULUSKERK / ST. PAULS’s CHURCH
The original church was built in the late 1950s, right here in the city centre. It was later demolished in 2007 to make way for a huge apartments complex. The new prayer house was rebuilt next to it. A new futuristic-looking structure, designed by the English architect Will Alsop, consists largely of copper cladding façade. It was officially opened on 2 June 2013.Church activities resume back right here on Mauritsweg 20. The Pauluskerk remains a diaconal center where everyone can walk in. They are known for helping people in need; homeless people, addicts, psychiatric patients, asylum seekers, Rotterdammers who live in poverty, young people who have lost their direction and vulnerable older people. Pauluskerk provides refuge for everyone in need.

Rotterdam - a truly modernist approach.

Now if I were walking past this after a drinking session, I would worry about what I was seeing. Thanks for adding a description of the church activities.

A very quirky design for a church, this is a great composition including the tower. V
