The Times

Bailey is home again after staying at the vet clinic and having a lot more tests run.
During this time of COVID in America, it is important to wash a dog well AFTER she's been "away from home" with strangers. You can't be sure who is carrying the virus "out there" or not. Although the drop off & pick up was more or less contactless, her fur was touched a lot by multiple, different strangers (vet & vet techs) during the time she was in the animal hospital. So bringing her back into our home was kind of like bringing groceries in. We needed to wash away any possible disease germs before we could handle her normally. We're living in really crazy times when immediately giving the dog a bath can mean staying healthy or not.

Today's News Headline

"The United States reported a whopping 52,788 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday,
the largest single-day total since the start of the pandemic."

When my husband picked Bailey up from the vet this evening, he said this vet (the 3rd one to see her since the start of June) did talk to him in the car. However, she remained more than 6 feet away in the parking lot and wore a mask. Parking spaces at the vet clinic are also blocked off to prevent clients from getting too close to one and another while doing a drop off or pick up of a pet. A masked vet tech handled getting the pet in & out of the far side of backseat of the car. Thus, 6 foot distancing (human to human) was also retained during that process. We use a pet carrier.

In the above photo, Bailey is air drying after her bath.

A great portrait of Bailey and glad she is back home.
Everything you said about who is carrying the virus is
a good way to think.
She is nice and fluffy but I bet she feels good after this
clean up and nice warm blow dry.
You have a happy puppy now.
She is perfect in the frame.

She looks a bit forlorn after her vet experience and bath.
