6-16-2020 female Rufous Hummingbird

An annual treat for us. The Rufous is migratory. The males usually arrive before the females, but I haven't spotted a male yet, at least in our yard.
Our more common hummingbird is the Annas Hummingbird that now winters here and is a year-round citizen.

Your very kind comments are so appreciated, Elaine. We are very fortunate to live on a couple of acres in an an urban area (just north of Seattle) that is surrounded with trees - so the birds tend to be very comfortable, given the cover the vegetation provides. Our feeders help also :).
