It does have a override button but you have to remember push it every time you start the automobile which I never did until I came up on the first stop. I gave the feature 3 months to get a feel for it and decide if I liked it or not. I don’t hate it rather I just didn’t care for it.

The last irritating straw for me was it commonly would shut off once or twice pulling into my garage and no matter what the mfg says that much starting and stopping has to take a long term toll on the engine, battery and starter system. So I choose to buy a after market device ($85.00) that connects between the override button and the truck that remembers the position you had it in last either on or off. Should I want to use the stop start feature again I just push the trucks button and it’s restored. It took me 10 minutes to pop off a trim piece, disconnect the wiring harness, plugin the new device and put the trim back on. Paul

Does your truck have a start/stop defeat button? Most new vehicles do. Just press it after starting the engine and the simulated stalls will stop.

Same car twice, why not? I bought and drove the same white type of a F150 twice in a row. Twenty years worth, I say why mess with success. My new truck isn’t nearly as advanced as your new car but compared to what I had it’s light years in advancements. The only thing I do not like is that “auto start stop” feature and bought a plug-in gizmo to override it. Paul

It's a wonderful car, and significant updates have been made in the intervening three years. Drive one. You might like it.

Same kind of car twice in a row? Boring!

hmmmm. "the old days". It is amazing how far we have come so quickly. And in so many technologies.

For a while car companies offered a "smoker's package" that came with a lighter rather than a 12V powerpoint and included an ashtray. Now, smokers are pretty much stuck with an ashtray insert to put into a cupholder.

My new car has even more tech than my last one. It will more or less drive itself in heavy stop-and-go traffic. So lots to learn. Remember the not-so-old days with manual transmissions and crank windows?

WHO KNEW!!! Damm, after reading your comment about no ashtray I had to get up and go out and look to see and sure enough there isn’t a ashtray in my new truck.

After I retired in late February my #1 goal was To liquidate virtually everything I had dealing with my company including my 2009 Ford F-150 service truck. I replaced it with a 2019 Ford Ranger super crew truck that has so many gizmos and gadgets that I’m still trying to learn compared to my old simple basic work truck that I didn’t realize no ashtray! With you being in the automobile business is this something widespread across the industry now? Paul

We lease our cars and generally get new ones every tow or three years. My white Giulia was a 2017 model and the oldest car in our "fleet". My new one is a 2020, so now my wife's car, a 2019, is the oldest. None of them have an ashtray.

And I thought your other car was new! My oldest (still living) brother used to trade in cars all the time, he was constantly getting a new car. My dad would secretly accuse him of trading in cars as soon as the ashtray full. The problem with his logic was Eldon didn’t smoke. Paul
