Slaggyford Signal Box on the South Tynedale Railway (STR), photographed on 26 October 2018. The STR is a 2ft gauge line built on the trackbed of the former Newcastle & Carlisle Railway's line from Haltwhistle to Alston with Slaggyford being the (current) northern terminus. The original North Eastern Railway (NER) signal box was demolished in the 1960s so the STR built this very convincing replica in 2017 when the line was extended from Lintley Halt.
