My first warbler of the season. It seems that migration is quite late this year due to our relatively cold spring. Usually I get my first warblers around the end of April. Presently, as I was observing a pair of ring-necked ducks in the middle of a small lake, this Palm Warbler suddenly landed about eight feet from me and started singing. I also saw a Yellow-rumped Warbler today, so it seems that the warbler season has finally started; however, cold nights and low temperatures are again forecast for the next week with some possible snow flurries which again may slow the migration.
