The last couple days I have started an annual inspection on the Cessna. Yesterday we started by checking compression and I got a terrible shock. There were a lot of bad compression cylinders. Not good at all. So we thought about it and decided that the plan today was to take it out and run the engine to get it hot. We had to wait a while to do the compression check because the engine was hot. Once it had cooled down to a reasonable temperature we tried it again. Miracle of miracles, all the cylinders were satisfactory. That was a load off my chest.
The big news today was that Bloke's engine can back from overhaul. We carefully got it out of the truck and set it safely in the hangar. It looks really beautiful. I am looking forward to remounting it on his Smith Mini-plane. Rodney is getting a new engine as well. Looking forward to lots of fun out there for the next few weeks.
