Last year I discovered this abandoned nest in little cast iron skillet I had placed on a supporting post in my entryway, hoping birds would use it. I suspectthey were scared off by a loud leaf blower (not used by us).
When I was looking for photogenic objects to use for still lifes after being inspired by Butch Welch ( http://pbase.com/butchwelch/larger_than_life ) I picked up the nest and realized it was sitting on the skillet!
