Ginny has lots of plants in her garden. It is her never ending project and she loves to work on it. A while ago I got interested in mint juleps. If you are going to make a mint julep you need lots of mint. We somehow acquired a couple mint plants and put them out in the garden. The rest is history. As you gardeners out there know, mint spreads like crazy. It is nice because you get large green areas in the garden. It is also a pain in the neck because it gets everywhere. Ginny ends up pulling out a lot of mint plants every year. Anyway, we got to talking with my son about his attempt to grow mint. I think he was doing it in pots. That would certainly keep it constrained. As we were talking, I went out into the garden and took this shot of a bunch of mint. It represents ten percent of the mint plants in the garden. Mint juleps fell out of favor with me because the standard recipe is just too sweet. But if we ever have a Kentucky Derby party, we are all set!
