Talk about a challenging bird! This Cerulean Warbler was so busy foraging in the dense foliage of the oak trees that it made for a great test of my reflexes. Thankfully the bird hung around for a long time giving many opportunities to get a photo. Of course, the opportunities averaged about half a second each. Between the frenetic nature of this beauty and the extreme contrast between the dark shadows and sun-bathed leaves getting the shot I wanted was really difficult. I didn’t quite get there but thought this was a reasonable start. What a blessing it is to have these amazingly beautiful creatures visit us each spring!
