Leah is a 3 year-old, 73 pound purebred female Akita. Leah is incredibly friendly and loves to spend time with people. If you're looking for an affectionate dog who loves to be pet, Leah could be your girl! Leah has lived successfully with children and may enjoy being a family dog again. Leah is three years old and spent much of her life outdoors. She's very excited to experience the life of a beloved indoor pet, and she hopes you'll be patient with her as she learns this new routine. Leah is looking for a home where she can be the only pet, with a guardian who can focus on her training and health for the moment. Leah has been diagnosed with a mild case of heartworm disease. Charlie's Place will cover the cost of her treatment, and is looking for a devoted guardian who can keep her calm during her recovery (through mid-July).
