Bright Spot

At Home in Sugar Land, Texas

My roses and flowers are in full bloom. Of all the times to be confined to home, this is the best.
Weather is warm and sunny. Flowers and color everywhere. Helps keep my sanity as I'm not a home-body.

This rose is Vincent Godsiff - a Bermuda Mystery Rose. One of my favorites, it blooms all year here.
Jennie Watlington - a former president of the Bermuda Rose Society sought to identify all the roses growing on the island.
Over the years the society has identified many of the old roses; those left are now called Bermuda Mystery Roses.
With the new identifying techniques of today like DNA, they continue to research the possible origins of those roses.
