03 No Color

Have to say sometimes B&W make a big impact on a image, to me the color version of this image is much more interesting.

During the virus run everyone is staying here so currently we have 6 people living here. My granddaughter had the color pencils out for a art project and of course I took notice.

If I’d still been working this would have been difficult since now my home office is a classroom for the grandkids home schooling and their Zoom social distancing get together’s.

Paul. You have to remember that MN is a state that is really pushing and practicing the no crowds and 6 ft separation guidelines. They have shuttered nonessential businesses to slow the spread of the coronavirus; HD beign declared essential.

How interesting Jim. My wife was repeating a conversation she had with a friend who recently went into both Lowe’s and HD and she said both stores were packed to the point she turned around and left because it was too busy. I may slip in there in the morning after they open because I really need some weed killer, a piece of Sheetrock and primer paint so I can start some repairs in my garage. Paul

Re Home Depot.
My son- in-law works at HD in Richfield MN. He says business is slow, but they are open. They strictly follow the 6ft separation guidelines.

I think I pushed the colors a touch from the out of camera but your right about different cropping. All of the editing is done on the iPad using default photo editing and then I use a Resizer app I picked up. For fun I’ll go back and recreate both the same size and cropping. What else do I have to do?? Plenty but can’t go into Home Depot to get what I need.

Interesting comparison. Cropping and sizing them differently also has an impact on perception. Is there any other processing differences between them?

I'd like to compare the same shot in color processed to B&W, so the conversion is the only difference.

You know my style! Last nights sequence of events went like this, at the exact moment I posted this photo I received a IM about one of the items I had for sale on Marketplace. Naturally I stopped what I was doing on Pbase and jumped to the IM.

We had a fairly lengthy back and forth discussion/ negotiation because he was trying to convince me to drop the price to about 50% but I was only willing to go down 10 since it was already deeply discounted. After that conversation concluded I simply forgot to return to what I was doing here. Now we’ll see if he follows thru and sets up a time today to pick the item up or not. During this process, for what ever the reason, I’ve found about 20 % or so of the people don’t follow through. Paul

My brain is trying to replace the colors.
