‘National Park Service Mistakenly Closes Lincoln Park, Setting off Comedy of Errors’

Yesterday I posted a shot Tim took of a sign at Lincoln Park stating that the National Park Service had closed it to the public (previous picture). Last evening he sent me a picture showing that the sign had been taken (or ripped) down. Nobody had any idea what was going on.

This morning he and Sahraa went to the park, which although pretty empty, was open again. It turns out that the NPS closed the park “by accident,” first telling our district police commander that it was closed and then having to tell her that it was in fact open and had been closed in error (both of which messages she officially posted on our neighborhood listserv). Bottom line is that only the playground is closed. Talk about confusion…

For anybody who would like an entertaining read that highlights how the federal government is (or isn’t) handling the pandemic situation, please go to http://capitolhillcorner.org/2020/03/27/national-park-service-mistakenly-closes-lincoln-park-setting-off-comedy-of-errors/ -- it’s worth reading.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

They don’t know what they’re doing. Sahraa doesn’t look amused. V

I love this shot of Sahraa!! she looks a bit quizzical, as who wouldn't with all that confusion. V

Love this shot of Sahraa posing so nicely. She seems quite accepting of having her picture taken.

So much confusion and misinformation these days. At least Sahraa appears to know what she's doing.

Sahraa poses so nicely for Tim! Same here, unclear what's open, what's not. Many parks gated but trails open if you can get to them!
