Waiting in Line

Oil tankers waiting in Port Angeles Harbor to offload
North Slope oil at the refinery at Cherry Point.
They come in full riding low in the water
and come back empty floating high.
Sometimes they come by for repairs and sit dockside
dominating the skyline of Port Angeles.
Nothing like a giant oil tanker to make downtown seem small,
because it is!

Neat shot - the boom holders make a nice addition to the scene - works so well in pano form. V

Cool shot of these huge tankers. Any chance of getting close to them? They would be irresistible subjects for me.
