We decided that we would have shrimp again this Friday. Two pound bags of frozen shrimp were on sale at Kroger, so we got a couple. It was a couple hours before I wanted to cook and I needed to defrost the shrimp so I could peel them before cooking. Sometimes I put frozen stuff in zip locks and immerse them in hot water. Crude but effective. The problem with shrimp is that they have pointy parts which can pierce the bag and cause a leak. It was a sunny day outside and there was a huge area of sunlight on the kitchen counter. It looked like a natural so I spread the frozen shrimp on a baking tray and left it in the sun. It worked well.
