Lark Bunting

Arizona

Have you ever had the experience of encountering a large flock of birds that you wanted to photograph that you just couldn’t get a photo of? During our Arizona trip this month we encountered several large flocks of Lark Buntings and they always seemed to fly to locations that were severely back-lit. They were on private property along a public road so we couldn’t try to get around to the other side of them for better lighting conditions. I had pretty much given up on the idea of getting a presentable photo of one when a small group of them flew to the better side of the road and not too far away. It still wasn’t exactly the photo I wanted but I sure was thankful to get this, especially considering how bad the previous photos were.
