‘Fibers and Civilization,’ Sabrina Gschwandtner, 1959 (3/3)

The final picture of this artwork, my favorite in the entire exhibit: a quilt made from 16 mm film and polyamide thread. I would recommend clicking on the other two images below to see just how innovative it really is.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

the perforations would make for a quilt that breathes...the images on the emulsion are intriguing...your comp suits the rectilinear item well..
