… in The Weather
I wrote this on the chalk board when
it was raining for what seemed like days.
The forecasters hyped that it was going to snow for over
a week and made it sound like the blizzard of the century
was coming to the lowlands of the fine and fair weathered northwest.
It finally snowed all the way down to the saltwater and
the mountains have their deep snow of several feet.
I happen to think snow is an improvement over rain
so maybe it just sucks a little less for a few days.
I’ll take it! I like being by the wood stove, besides it’s the
best place to break up the furniture to feed the fire.
Better than “real” firewood because it warms you three times.
First time is when you move extra furniture into the house.
Do it over the summer so you have the house full.
Then you get a nice work out when you
start in on the dinning room set
but try to wait until after Thanksgiving.
Then it warms you a third time as you
feed the remains of the coffee table into the stove.
It might warm you a fourth time because if you really stuff
the stove and get a chimney fire going… Oops!
At that point the best you can hope for is
being lucky enough to have the
“fixings" for S’more’s as you flee!
Hope Ya”All are having a Happy New Year!
So far! So Good?
