Le Chāteau Frontenac (1893) - An icon of Quebec City

The chāteau occupies high ground that has been of vital strategic importance since the city
was founded in 1608. In the early 17th century, Samuel de Champlain, the “father of New France,”
built a fort here to defend his new settlement.
