Probably the same bird that I photographed at the fountain back in November: https://pbase.com/tgrey/image/170095154. A female Townsend's was regularly at our fountain this winter; three days later I photographed it at the same spot in the fountain: https://pbase.com/tgrey/image/170307859.
The feather loss evident at the base of the bill is from the bird hunting for bugs in eucalyptus trees that ooze sticky gum.
